It’s New Years Eve, 1999.  With the entire country caught up in “Y2K Paranoia”, Chazz Goodhart decides it’s the perfect opportunity to escape his rural hometown of Redfield, Virginia. He leaves behind his Meth-dealing mother, and hops a Greyhound bus in hopes of getting into the Party Of The Century:  “The Y2K Bootyquake Bash” at The Groove Factory.  Despite the assault on New York City’s Clubland and the politically charged “War on Designer Drugs”, D.J. Willy D. Vinyl has managed to keep his club pumping nightly, and the countdown to the Millennium promises to be a life-changing event.  Set to an original score of pulsating electronic pop music, The Groove Factory is an exciting new musical theater experience!

SEEKING STRONG POP SINGERS WITH EXCELLENT COMEDIC TIMING/CHARACTER WORK AND DYNAMIC MOVEMENT SKILLS FOR THE FOLLOWING ROLES:

CHAZZ GOODHART (male, age 20-30) Innocent, wide-eyed and optimistic symbol of the 90′s. He is a bubbly drug-addict from rural Virginia with a heart of gold, ambiguous sexual orientation. Any ethnicity, POP TENOR.

UNCLE JOEY (male, age 45-60) Androgynous, eccentric uncle of Chazz, charismatic, funny and warm.  Any ethnicity, POP TENOR

COCO-DEPENDENT (male, age 25-40) Bossy, drugged out gay club kid with a love for drugs. comic sidekick to Sera Tonin. Any ethnicity, POP BARI-TENOR.

GUS GLOTTOKAKIS/ENSEMBLE (male, age 20-30) Gorgeous gay Greek go-go boy from Chelsea, sexy and seductive, always high on G.H.B. POP BARI-TENOR.

FUCHSIA FLOWERS/ENSEMBLE (female, age 20-30) Adorable, friendly and sassy ecstasy dealer from The Bronx. African-American or Latina actress preferred but not essential, POP ALTO/SOPRANO WITH HIGH BELT.

MICK WACCHATELLI/ENSEMBLE (male, age 20-30) Super cool, Italian “Jersey Boy” who sells “Special K” at the club, Eminem type. POP BARI-TENOR.

JOSE GOLDBERG/SUMMER CLEARANCE/ENSEMBLE

(male, age 20-30)High-out-of-his-mind club kid; also plays tired drag queen SUMMER CLEARANCE. Ideally a very strong dancer. Any ethnicity, POP BARI-TENOR.
